International Bar Association New Guidelines

International Bar Association recently (May 25, 2013) posted its new standards for representatives in international arbitrations, which includes conduct towards experts and provides “… a reference point for parties of the minimum standard required and the foundation for tribunals to give directions and orders providing a level playing field between the parties”.  These guidelines will help provide fairness in the process and has suggestions for enforcement.  While these guidelines require adoption by the parties and/or the tribunal, the publication of the guidelines are a valuable resource, and will hopefully be adopted by many tribunals world-wide.  Clyde & Co. paraphrases the IBA guidelines below: http://www.clydeco.com/insight/updates/new-standards-for-party-representatives-in-international-arbitration-iba-gu

And you can find the guidelines and read them for yourself at the IBA website link provided below: http://www.ibanet.org/LPD/Dispute_Resolution_Section/Arbitration/Default.aspx
