On Wednesday, October 30, 2013, Warner’s consultants J. Kimon Yiasemides and Zeynep Guven will be presenting a webinar on “Consideration of Claims Issues in the Creation and Update of Schedules”. For more information and to register, please see Construction Pro Network at https://www.registrationheadquarters.com/events/?50d66c0cef4747198c0bdfa69e66b75fa
This webinar will discuss the aspects for both contractors and owners to consider, and the best practices to implement, so that the project schedule may be a claims-support tool, as well as a claims-avoidance tool.
In the webinar we will discuss how determining the impact of delays on a construction project is all too often only performed in the retrospective. Full consideration of claims issues while updating the project schedule, and even as early as during the creation of the baseline schedule, should be performed for many reasons. Substandard or inadequate schedule updates can severely hinder the development of delay claims and the resolution of disputes. To amplify the power of your schedule as a claims support tool, there are certain considerations that should be taken into account in developing the baseline and updating the schedule. This and more will be explored during the webinar.
Please join us at the 34th annual Virginia Construction and Public Contracts Law Seminar where Warner will, as always, be an active participant. Friday night Warner will sponsor the Cocktail Reception in appreciation of Dic Raeon’s 24 years of service to Warner and to congratulate him on his retirement from his position as General Counsel. Warner will also be speaking Saturday morning on “Scheduling Talks: Making Schedules Work and Resolving Mega Project Delays”. A member of Warner’s executive staff will be speaking on a three-member panel. We hope to see you there! You can find more information about the event here: http://www.vacle.org/product.aspx?zpid=4539
