Warner has been retained by Winmar Construction, based in Georgetown, to prepare its CPM Baseline Schedule and monthly updates for the new Moxy DC Hotel (a Marriott brand) at 11th and K Streets in Washington, DC. Warner will work with Winmar and its subcontractors to develop a detailed CPM Baseline Construction Schedule. For the monthly updates, Warner will provide its typical added-value service in monitoring progress and measuring performance against the schedule and forecast.
The Moxy Hotel is a new 13-story tower with 200 guestrooms, a lobby, bar, lounge, exercise room and two conference rooms, and will incorporate a former historic 4-story mansion that sits on the corner of 11th and K Streets.
Marriott’s Moxy is a relatively new product with the first opening in Milan, Italy, and only eight other locations in the U.S., in cities including New York, Chicago, and San Francisco. The brand targets younger travelers with smaller rooms, and is amenity rich with modern sleek design.
The project is a notable win for Winmar in its ongoing relationship with Douglas Development Corporation, and for Warner to be part of another high-profile DC project. Winmar selected Warner not just for its renowned CPM scheduling expertise, but also for its schedule performance awareness, and its ability to partner with its clients as a team member and bring added-value consulting to achieve project objectives and success.
Warner was retained by Daniel & Company, Inc., based in Richmond, Virginia, to prepare its baseline schedule and provide monthly updates on the renovation of the VCU Police Department Headquarters in Richmond, Virginia. The Project, which is three (3) levels plus a basement, will primarily house the VCU Police.
Daniel’s scope includes major demolition of the interiors, upgrade of the mechanical and electrical systems, installation of a new roof, refurbishment of the elevator, upgrade of the core and shell bathrooms, painting of the stairs and lobbies, and new fixtures. The first floor includes new lockers, interview rooms and conference areas. The second floor includes academy classrooms, a gymnasium, a breakroom and offices. The third floor will include offices and a conference room. A new firing range will also be built in the basement under a separate contract.
Warner has been engaged by Riparius Construction, Inc. (Riparius) to fully develop the baseline schedule, integrate the tenant improvements schedule, and provide monthly updates and monitoring of the project, including potential time extension issues, on this 130,000 square foot office building in Hunt Valley, Maryland.
Greenfield Partners, Inc. engaged Riparius as its CM at Risk general contractor to construct this five (5) story LEED Silver office building totaling approximately 130,000 square feet. JMT, an engineering firm, will occupy floors 1 through 4 consisting of approximately 104,000 square feet. The fifth floor will be left as a warm dark shell, per the Basis of Design. Tenant interiors will be constructed to a typical suburban class B+ standard.
Construction of the Wight Avenue Office Building began in January 2015 and is scheduled for completion in April 2016.
