Children's Inn at NIH Dinner

The Warner Team had the privilege of providing and serving dinner to the families at the Children's Inn at NIH in Bethesda, Maryland.  While NIH takes care of the children’s medical needs, the Children’s Inn cares of their social and emotional needs.  The Inn is a "safe haven," where sick children, along with their parents and siblings, can all stay together after long days of treatment and procedures - a home, away from home.

For many children, NIH is their best hope for successful treatment, and all too often it‘s their last hope for a cure.  Many families travel from all over the world because conventional treatments have failed.  The high cost of room and board that piles up while a child is undergoing a lengthy treatment can be an unbearable burden, so the Children’s Inn provides a place where families can stay, together, while volunteer organizations take turns providing and serving lunches and dinners.

Warner, working with Moby Dick Catering, provided dinner to the residents of the Children’s Inn, allowing for food allergies and nutrition sensitivities. We also had fun making home made cookies - including gluten free!  The Warner volunteers were blessed beyond measure to have the opportunity to meet with and serve the special families at the Children's Inn.
